Most of what governs your everyday digital work is older than any of the tools. Your code already requires you to be competent in what you do, to keep up to date and to keep clear, accurate records, and an electronic record is a record. An entry is yours whoever, or whatever, first wrote the words.
The unit teaches the tools, terms and specialist roles around you and your record-keeping duties applied to copied, imported and AI-drafted text. It treats digital exclusion as a legal question, including the Equality Act 2010 duty to make reasonable adjustments and to give information in an accessible format without charging the patient, and the Accessible Information Standard in England. It shows how to recommend an app without overstating what anyone has checked, now that the NHS Apps Library no longer exists at its address. It closes with introducing tools in teams and their environmental footprint. It maps to the HEE AI and Digital Healthcare Technologies Capability Framework (2023).
